Irony: Florida... the Sunshine State

We've just this minute crossed the Florida state line. The sign says, "The Sunshine State". It's dark, pouring with rain, and we may not be even able to go to Miami since a hurricane is about to hit Florida, and we're about to be in it! Brendan wants to see the hurricane. I want to go swimming. Conflicting goals.

Oh, we're just a little behind on blog posts... believe it or not, we got a little busy. ;) We're in Vero Beach in Florida now, watching the rain come down and working out how to avoid Tropical Storm Fay.

P.S. I believe those slogans are a marketing ploy to get you to come to the state and spend your money.

Yep - undoubtedly. Georgia's is the best/ worst: "Georgia: We're glad we're on your mind" (or, Georgia on My Mind)
